INF Duran and RHP Garabito optioned to Round Rock; LHP Bradford transferred to 60-day IL

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers announced several roster moves today ahead of Tuesday night’s game at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs:

Activated 3B Josh Jung from the 10-day Injured List (neck spasms).

Selected the contract of RHP Caleb Boushley (#70, pronounced ‘BAHZ-lee’) from Triple-A Round Rock.

Optioned INF Ezequiel Duran to Triple-A Round Rock.

Optioned RHP Gerson Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock.

Transferred LHP Cody Bradford to the 60-day Injured List (left elbow sprain).

Josh Jung
Jung, 27, has been sidelined for the Rangers’ last nine games after exiting in the 8th inning against Boston on March 28 due to neck stiffness. Over the weekend, he completed an injury rehab assignment at Frisco (AA), appearing in two games against Corpus Christi. Jung went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one walk in six plate appearances, including a two-run single on Saturday while serving as Frisco’s designated hitter. He played 6.0 innings at third base on Sunday.

Prior to the injury, Jung hit .429 (3-for-7) with one RBI in two games against the Red Sox (March 27-28). Selected 8th overall by the Rangers in the 1st round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Texas Tech University, the San Antonio, Texas native holds a career .259/.302/.449/.751 slash line with 35 home runs, three triples, and 34 doubles across 196 Major League games spanning four seasons with Texas.

Caleb Boushley
Boushley, 31, has recorded a 2.08 ERA (2 ER/8.2 IP) in two starts at Triple-A Round Rock this season, including a standout 5.0 scoreless innings on Thursday against Toledo. Seeking his Texas debut, he joined the Rangers as a minor league free agent on November 15, 2024, after spending the first eight years of his professional career with the San Diego (2017-21), Milwaukee (2022-23), and Minnesota (2024) organizations. Originally selected in the 33rd round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Padres out of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Boushley has made three MLB appearances, tallying a 4.26 ERA (3 ER/6.1 IP) with the Brewers (1 game, 2023) and Twins (2 games, 2024). He impressed in spring training with a 3.27 ERA (4 ER/11.0 IP) and 17 strikeouts across eight Cactus League relief outings.

Ezequiel Duran
Duran, 25, has played in five games for the Rangers this season, going hitless in 11 at-bats with four strikeouts and one RBI. He contributed defensively at third base (3 games, 2 starts) and second base (1 game) and made his first career pitching appearance on March 31 against Cincinnati, tossing one inning. In 277 career MLB games (2022-25), all with Texas, Duran has slashed .254/.298/.383/.681 with 22 home runs, three triples, 43 doubles, and 92 RBI.

Gerson Garabito
Garabito, 29, posted a 9.00 ERA (8 ER/8.0 IP) in three relief appearances for the Rangers this season, including covering 3.1 innings in yesterday’s loss to the Cubs. Since his MLB debut in 2024, Garabito has amassed a 0-2 record with a 5.77 ERA (22 ER/34.1 IP) in 21 career appearances, including two starts.

Cody Bradford
Bradford, 27, was placed on the 15-day Injured List on March 27 after missing the latter half of spring training with a left elbow sprain. Prior to the injury, he posted a 2.00 ERA (2 ER/9.0 IP) in three Cactus League starts, going 1-0.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers maintain their 40-man roster limit, with Jon Gray and Josh Sborz currently on the 60-day Injured List.
