WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Oakland Athletics have announced that left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas. This move creates a roster spot for left-handed pitcher Angel Perdomo, who was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on March 25.

Harris made a single appearance in the Athletics’ season-opening four-game series against the Seattle Mariners, where he pitched 0.1 innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. During Spring Training, Harris posted a 0.71 ERA and a .485 opponents’ OPS across nine games, including one start. He held opposing batters to an impressive .105 average but struggled with control, leading the team with 12 walks—second most in the Cactus League.
Perdomo began Spring Training with the Atlanta Braves before being traded to the Angels for cash considerations on March 17. He was designated for assignment by the Angels shortly after, on March 25. The 30-year-old left-hander delivered a strong performance during Spring Training, recording a 1.80 ERA and a .624 opponents’ OPS in 10 appearances. He held opposing hitters to a .200 batting average but issued six walks over 10.0 innings pitched.
Perdomo missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from “Tommy John” surgery, performed on October 6, 2023. His last Major League appearance came in 2023 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he went 3-2 with a 3.72 ERA across 30 relief appearances. Over his MLB career, Perdomo holds a 4-2 record with a 5.55 ERA in 52 relief outings, spanning three seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers (2020-21) and Pirates (2022).
The Athletics look forward to the contributions Perdomo can bring as the season progresses.
