Lopez, 30, appeared in 124 games with the Chicago White Sox in 2024, delivering a .241 batting average (96-for-398) alongside 40 runs scored, 16 extra-base hits, and 21 RBI. A defensive standout, Lopez demonstrated exceptional reliability in the field, making 433 successful plays out of 437 chances while splitting his time between second base (76 games) and shortstop (40 games). His outstanding defensive contributions earned him a spot as a finalist for the American League Gold Glove Award at second base. Additionally, Lopez’s disciplined approach at the plate was reflected in his 15.1% strikeout rate, which ranked in the 88th percentile among all qualified Major League hitters in 2024.

A native of Naperville, Illinois, Lopez began his professional baseball career when the Kansas City Royals selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Creighton University. He made his Major League debut with the Royals in 2019 and spent five seasons with the club before joining the Atlanta Braves in 2023 and the White Sox in 2024.

Over his six-year Major League career, Lopez has played in 670 games, accumulating a .248 batting average (521-for-2,104), 83 doubles, 18 triples, seven home runs, 152 RBI, and 96 stolen bases. His defensive versatility has been a hallmark of his career, making him a valuable asset at multiple infield positions.
