The New York Sirens have announced the signing of defender Olivia Knowles to a 10-day Standard Player Agreement with the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).

“We are taking full advantage of the opportunities provided by this league,” stated Sirens General Manager Pascal Daoust. “Having depth like this allows us to adapt effectively when unexpected situations arise. This signing enables Olivia to seamlessly return to her role—one she knows and performs exceptionally well.”

Knowles, a 26-year-old native of Campbell River, BC, has already made a notable impact this season, appearing in 10 games for the Sirens. She originally joined the team from the Toronto Sceptres’ Reserve list on December 6, 2024. Knowles was briefly placed on New York’s Reserve Player list following the acquisition of defender Lauren Bernard but now returns to active duty with this short-term contract. Prior to her time with New York, she spent the inaugural PWHL season with Toronto, contributing in 20 games and registering one assist.

This strategic move bolsters the Sirens’ defensive lineup for the next three games, helping the team navigate day-to-day injuries as they approach the international break. Knowles’ familiarity with the team and her proven reliability make her a key addition during this critical stretch.
