OF Chase DeLauter was seen yesterday by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia to confirm the presence of a left-sided core muscle injury (sports hernia), sustained during defensive work during the February 28th pregame team workout. Following a clinical evaluation, Dr. Meyers recommended surgical intervention.
Surgery was performed this morning to repair the bilateral core muscle injury. Chase will return to Goodyear, AZ later this week to initiate rehabilitation. The return to play timeframe in similar cases is 8-to-12 weeks.
