WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Oakland Athletics have announced the trade of right-handed pitcher Will Klein to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for international slot money. Klein was designated for assignment on Friday.

Klein was one of three players acquired from Kansas City in the Lucas Erceg trade on July 30, 2024. Making his Major League debut last year, Klein pitched in five games for the Royals and three for the A’s. The 25-year-old right-hander recorded an 11.05 ERA and a .990 opponents OPS over eight games. He spent the majority of the season at the Triple-A level, achieving a 2-2 record with a minor league career-high nine saves, a 3.77 ERA, and a .645 opponents OPS in 38 relief appearances for Omaha (34 games) and Las Vegas (four games).
