Boston Red Sox Add Five Non-Roster Invitees to 2025 Spring Training Roster

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox have announced the addition of five non-roster invitees to their 2025 Spring Training roster: pitchers Austin Adams, Yovanny Cruz, Noah Davis, Sean Newcomb, and Robert Stock.

Austin Adams, RHP – Adams, 33, appeared in 56 games for the Athletics in 2024, posting a 3.92 ERA (18 ER/41 IP) with 53 strikeouts. He led the club with 22 holds and ranked second in games pitched. Originally selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the eighth round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, the Florida native has a 4.10 ERA (71 ER/155.2 IP) with 223 strikeouts in 188 career Major League games for the Nationals, Mariners, Padres, Diamondbacks, and Athletics.

Yovanny Cruz, RHP – Cruz, 25, is attending his second consecutive Major League Spring Training, having previously been with the San Diego Padres last season. He posted a 4.55 ERA (15 ER/29.2 IP) with 35 strikeouts in 23 appearances for Double-A San Antonio during 2024. Originally signed by the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent in August 2016, the Dominican Republic native has a 3.63 ERA (78 ER/193.1 IP) with 216 strikeouts in 82 career minor league games.

Noah Davis, RHP – Davis, 27, pitched in nine games for the Colorado Rockies in 2024, also appearing for Triple-A Albuquerque and the Arizona Complex League Rockies. He has a 7.71 ERA (44 ER/51.1 IP) in 18 career Major League games (six starts), all with the Rockies. The California native has also recorded a 4.64 ERA (215 ER/417 IP) with 423 strikeouts in 95 career minor league games.

Sean Newcomb, LHP – Newcomb, 31, a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, pitched for the Athletics in 2024 after starting the season on the Injured List. He made seven relief appearances in June. Selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the first round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, Newcomb has a 4.51 ERA (216 ER/431 IP) with 438 strikeouts in 175 career Major League games with the Braves, Cubs, and Athletics.

Robert Stock, RHP – Stock, 35, has gone 10-2 with a 1.60 ERA (15 ER/84.1 IP) and 78 strikeouts in 14 starts this winter for Naranjeros de Hermosillo in the Mexican Pacific League. In 2024, he played for Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos in the Mexican Baseball League, recording 104 strikeouts with a 3.38 ERA (37 ER/98.2 IP). Stock has also played for the Doosan Bears, Long Island Ducks, and Major League teams including the Padres, Red Sox, Cubs, and Mets.
