The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced the following 13 players who will attend Major League camp as non-roster invitees:
Abrahan Gutierrez (C)
- 2024 Performance: Hit a combined .241 (45-for-187) with 10 doubles, one triple, and 21 RBI in 49 games across Double-A Altoona, the Florida Complex League Pirates (rehab), and Low-A Bradenton (rehab).
- Background: Gutierrez attended big league camp as a non-roster invitee last year and was acquired by the Pirates from Philadelphia on July 31, 2021, in exchange for left-handed pitcher Braeden Ogle.
Carson Fulmer (RHP)
- 2024 Performance: Went 0-5 with a 4.15 ERA (86.2 IP/40 ER), 81 strikeouts, and a .246 batting average against in 37 appearances (eight starts) with Los Angeles (AL). Recorded a 3.88 ERA (48.2 IP/21 ER) in 29 bullpen appearances.
- Career: Has a career record of 7-15 with a 5.38 ERA (227.1 IP/136 ER) in 114 big league appearances (24 starts) with the Chicago White Sox, Detroit, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Los Angeles Angels. Was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh from Detroit in 2020 but did not appear in a game.
Darick Hall (INF)
- 2024 Performance: Spent 2024 with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, ranking third among Phillies minor leaguers in RBI (72) and tied for fourth in home runs (16).
- Career: Selected by Philadelphia in the 14th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft. Has a big league record of 43-for-190 (.226) with nine doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, and 19 RBI in 60 games across 2022-23.
Bryce Johnson (OF)
- 2024 Performance: Began the season with El Paso (Padres’ AAA), hitting .288 (75-for-260) with 15 doubles, five triples, four home runs, 34 RBI, 20 stolen bases, a .407 OBP, .431 slugging percentage, and .838 OPS in 74 games.
- Career: Originally selected by San Francisco in the sixth round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft. Made his big league debut in 2022 with the Giants and spent most of the year with Triple-A Sacramento, tying a career-high with 31 stolen bases.
