NBA Preview: Memphis Grizzlies (15-8) vs Boston Celtics (19-4)

The Boston Celtics will be looking to extend their winning streak against the Memphis Grizzlies to seven games when the teams meet on Saturday in Boston.

The Celtics have dominated this matchup, winning 16 of their past 17 games against the Grizzlies, including the last 10 in Boston.

Marcus Smart, who spent his first nine NBA seasons with the Celtics before being traded to Memphis in a three-team deal that brought Kristaps Porzingis to Boston, is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game due to an ankle injury. A hand injury had already kept Smart out when the Grizzlies made their lone visit to Boston last season.

Smart scored in double figures for the fourth time in his past five games, totaling 18 points in Memphis’ 115-110 win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. After the game, he hinted that he expects to play against Boston.

The Celtics extended their home winning streak to seven games with a 111-105 victory over Milwaukee on Friday night.

Porzingis did not play in that game for injury management reasons but is expected to be in the lineup against the Grizzlies.

Al Horford played on Friday, but he typically does not participate in both games when the Celtics have back-to-back nights.

Despite missing 36 of their 53 three-point attempts, the Celtics prevailed on Friday, finishing the game on a 16-6 run. Jrue Holiday contributed six of his 20 points in the final six minutes.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 34 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Milwaukee was 1 of 13 from the field in the final six minutes.
