Los Angeles Dodgers extend Tommy Edman

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed on a contract extension with infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman for five-years for $74M through the 2029 season with a club option for the 2030 season.

Edman, 29, joined the Dodgers on July 29 in a three-team trade from the St. Louis Cardinals. He played 37 regular season games for the Dodgers, slashing .237/.294/.411 with six homers and 20 RBI. He helped the Dodgers to their eighth world championship, winning the National League Championship Series MVP after hitting .407, driving in 11 and hitting a series-clinching homer in Game 6 of the series. He finished his first postseason run with Los Angeles, batting .320 with two homers and 13 RBI.

Edman will enter his seventh Major League season and has played in 633 games with St. Louis (2019-2023) and Los Angeles (2024), slashing .263/.317/.408 while playing six different positions.
