The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired right-handed pitcher Eric Orze from the New York Mets in exchange for outfielder Jose Siri.

Eric Orze: Orze, 27, made his major league debut last season with the Mets, appearing in two relief outings. During his time with Triple-A Syracuse, he recorded a 6-1 record with a 2.92 ERA (61.2 IP, 20 ER), three saves, and 84 strikeouts in 43 relief appearances.

Over his minor league career, spanning 150 appearances, Orze has a 17-10 record with a 4.04 ERA (222.2 IP, 100 ER), nine saves, and 301 strikeouts. He was selected by the Mets in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of New Orleans.

Jose Siri: Siri, 29, played in a career-high 130 games last season, hitting .187/.255/.366 with 16 doubles, one triple, 18 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases. He led the Rays with 12 game-winning RBIs and ranked second among MLB outfielders with 17 outs above average.

During his time with Tampa Bay from 2022-24, Siri slashed .210/.266/.414 with 38 doubles, three triples, 47 home runs, 117 RBIs, and 34 stolen bases across 287 games. He was acquired from Houston on August 1, 2022, as part of a three-team, five-player trade involving Baltimore.
