Toronto Blue Jays finalize seven roster moves

The Toronto Blue Jays have made the following roster moves:

  •  RHP Alek Manoah has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list
  •  RHP Jordan Romano has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list
  •  OF Daulton Varsho has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list
  •  INF Will Wagner has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list
  •  LHP Génesis Cabrera has cleared waivers and elected free agency
  •  RHP Luis Frías has cleared waivers and is now a free agent
  •  INF Luis De Los Santos was placed on waivers and has been claimed by the New York Mets­

Additionally, RHP Michael Petersen has been claimed off waivers from the Miami Marlins.

Petersen, 30, appeared in 16 total games for both the Dodgers and the Marlins this past season. Between the Majors and Triple-A, he posted a 3.25 ERA across 52.2 innings with an 8.8% walk rate, 27% strikeout rate, 33.2% chase rate, 1.08 WHIP, and a .197 opponent batting average in 51 appearances. The 6-7, 195 lb. right-handed reliever was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 17th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft out of Riverside City College, eventually making his MLB debut with the Dodgers this past season. The Middlesex, United Kingdom native has made a total of 179 Minor League appearances (18 starts), posting a 3.95 ERA over 273.2 innings.

To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Emmanuel Ramirez has been designated for assignment.
