New York Mets complete five roster moves

FLUSHING, N.Y., – The New York Mets today announced the following roster moves.

RHP Kevin Herget has been claimed off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers. In seven major league games last year, the right-handed pitcher posted a 1.59 ERA (2 ER/11.1 IP) with three walks and nine strikeouts. He spent the bulk of the 2024 season at Triple-A, where he made 38 appearances, going 5-1 with four saves, a 2.27 ERA (12 ER/47.2 IP), 11 walks and 59 strikeouts.

INF Luis De Los Santos was claimed off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays. He spent the majority of the 2024 season at Triple-A but appeared in 13 games with the Blue Jays. In 43 games with Triple-A Buffalo, the right-handed hitter batted .260/.375/.441 with six home runs and 16 RBI.

The organization sent LHP Matt Gage, LHP Joey Lucchesi and OF D.J. Stewart outright to Triple-A Syracuse. Lucchesi and Stewart elected free agency.

In addition, the club reinstated RHP Paul Blackburn, INF Ronny Mauricio, RHP Sean Reid-Foley and RHP Christian Scott from the from 60-Day IL.

New York has declined the 2025 team option on RHP Phil Maton, while LHP Sean Manaea has declined his player option for the 2025 season.
