UC DAVIS EARNS FIRST WIN EVER VS EWU

UC Davis defeated Eastern Washington 48-38 in Cheney last Saturday, which was the program’s first-ever win against the Eagles (previously 0-11).

JERRY RICE AWARD TOP-30 WATCH LIST

The Jerry Rice Award, given to the nation’s top freshman standout in the FCS, announced its Top30 Watch List this week, with four honorees from the Big Sky making the cut. The Big Sky has won the award the last two seasons, with Idaho’s Gevani McCoy and Montana’s Eli Gillman winning the award in back-to-back seasons. QB GREBE NAMED FINALIST FOR CAMPBELL TROPHY

Montana State’s Brody Grebe was announced as a finalist for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy by the National Football Foundation (NFF). The award is given annually to the individual who is the absolute best in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. The last finalist for the award also came from Montana State, as fellow Bobcat and current Atlanta Falcon Troy Andersen earned the honor in 2021.

BYE WEEK IN THE BIG SKY CONFERENCE

Half of the Big Sky will be off this Saturday, as six teams will be on a bye week. Following this Saturday slate, Idaho and Idaho State will take the league’s final bye weeks for games on Nov. 2.
