Magomed Ankalaev, a member of Fight Club Akhmat, is back in action at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, aiming to replicate his recent KO victory over Johnny Walker in a rematch. Known for his striking power, Ankalaev (18-1-1-1) is part of a club with a strong track record in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Since joining the UFC in 2018, he’s maintained an impressive record, winning all six of his fights in these regions, half of them by KO/TKO.

In his last bout, Ankalaev secured a KO victory in the second round against Walker, showcasing his striking skills. Now, he faces Aleksandar Rakic (14-4), who is on a comeback trail after a severe shoulder injury and a subsequent loss to Jiri Prochazka. Rakic, currently ranked 5th in the UFC Light Heavyweight division, seeks to improve his standing with a win over the 2nd-ranked Ankalaev, potentially earning a title shot.

The fighters from Fight Club Akhmat, named after the father of Vladimir Putin’s aide Ramzan Khadirov, prefer competing where the crowd is in their favor, and Ankalaev’s performance in Abu Dhabi should draw significant attention. This bout promises to be a highlight, with both fighters keen to prove their mettle in the Octagon.
