Week Three of the football season featured upsets, overtimes and outstanding individual performances. Week four kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the second week of South Atlantic Conference play on tap.

Tusculum at #6 Lenoir-Rhyne – 1 p.m.

A rematch of last year’s SAC Championship opens league play this weekend. The Bears would win that game as Tusculum seeks revenge. The Pioneers are in search of their first win of the season after dropping games to West Alabama and Newberry. LR is off to another strong start as they went on the road to hold off Mars Hill 29-21 to improve to 3-0.

Anderson at Barton – 2 p.m.

Each team is coming off tough losses last week and looking to bounce back. This will be Anderson’s first-ever road game after spending the first three weeks at home. The Bulldogs are 1-2 overall and are coming off a shutout at the hands of Emory & Henry last week.

Emory & Henry at Limestone – 4 p.m.

The Wasps are one of the hotest teams in the nation, winning three straight and are coming off a 41-0 win last week over Barton. However, they face a tough task in Limestone who is 2-1 overall and are averaging nearly 30 points per game.

Mars Hill at Wingate – 6 p.m.

This game features two teams who are coming off the toughest losses in the conference last weekend. Mars Hill nearly upset Lenoir-Rhyne before the Bears scored the final 13 points of the game to steal a 29-21 win. Wingate dropped an overtime contest at Carson-Newman 31-28 despite outgaining the Agles 357-235.

#25 Carson-Newman at Catawba – 6 p.m.

The Eagles joined the top 25 for the first time since 2019 after upsetting Wingate last week. Bennett Smith booted the game-winning 34-yard field goal in OT to send Carson-Newman to a 3-0 start. Catawba will be at home for the first time all season after hitting the road for three straight to open the campaign. Catawba will look to shake off a 31-28 loss at UVA Wise and hand the Eagles their first loss of the year.

UVA Wise at Newberry – 7 p.m.

The slate is concluded as UVA Wise heads to Newberry. The Cavaliers topped Catawba 31-28 in home last week in a emotional victory and have to hit the road this week. Newberry got in the win column with a 50-20 win over Tusculum last week after dropping two really tough non-conference games. A 2-0 start is on the line in this one under the lights.
