CFB-FCS: United Athletic Conference (UAC) Week 0 Release & Preview

UAC Football Duo Debut in Week 0

Tarleton State and North Alabama set to kickoff 2024 on national television

The wait is over for the start of season two for UAC Football as a pair of league members are part of Week 0 competition with No. 21 Tarleton State playing host to rival McNeese State and North Alabama battling Southeast Missouri State at the FCS Kickoff Classic in Montgomery, Ala.

The Texans welcome the Cowboys to Memorial Stadium in Stephenville, Texas for a 2:30 PM CT kickoff on ESPN2, marking the program’s first ever linear television appearance in football. The game will be the first college football game on American soil as Georgia Tech and Florida State were slated to begin at 11 AM CT in Dublin, Ireland. Tarleton State and McNeese will be meeting for the fourth time in nine seasons in the season opener. TSU claimed a 52-34 victory last season at MSU.

The Lions are making their second consecutive appearance in the FCS Kickoff Classic having dropped a hard fought 17-7 decision last year to No. 20 Mercer at the Cramton Bowl. UNA and SEMO are slated to kickoff at 6 PM CT on ESPN, marking the first appearance on the network’s top linear channel for the Purple and White. North Alabama returns 44 letterwinners and 18 starters from their squad a year ago along with nearly the full coaching staff. Game will be just the second all-time matchup between the programs with UNA posting a 61-13 victory the first time in 1956.

All nine members of the UAC will get things rolling in the first full week of college football action including a Thursday (Aug. 29) contest for Southern Utah at No. 11 Utah, an FBS member.
