Tulsa scored early, often and in a number of ways as the Golden Hurricane handled Northwestern State 62-28 last Thursday … Tulsa had four touchdown passes, three rushing TDs and found the end zone twice on special teams … QB Kirk Francis, a redshirt freshman, completed 23 of 30 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns without an interception … RB Lloyd Avant was Tulsa’s leading rusher with 64 yards on 11 carries and delivered 127 yards on kickoff returns, including a 100-yard touchdown … WR Kamdyn Benjamin had five catches for 65 yards and a TD and scored on a 66-yard punt return, while WR Zion Steptoe, a transfer from Purdue, had five receptions for a team-high 88 yards … The defense registered 11 tackles for loss on 53 Northwestern State offensive plays.
