The Colorado Rockies announced the following moves today:

  • Selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Jaden Hill (#0) from Triple-A Albuquerque.
  • Optioned left-handed pitcher Evan Justice to Triple-A.
  • Transferred right-handed pitcher Dakota Hudson to the 60-day injured list.

Hill, 24, was selected by the Rockies in the second round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University … has made 41 relief appearances between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque in 2024, his first season as a reliever, going 6-2 with seven saves, a 4.57 ERA (45.1 IP, 23 ER), 17 walks and 69 strikeouts … has gone 1-0 with one save and a 10.29 ERA (7.0 IP, 8 ER), six walks and 13 strikeouts in seven appearances with Albuquerque … 5-2 with six saves, a 3.52 ERA (38.1 IP, 15 ER), 11 walks and 56 strikeouts in 34 appearances with Hartford prior to his promotion … currently ranked as the Rockies’ #20 prospect … the Ashdown, Ark., native will be the second player in franchise history to wear #0, along with right-handed pitcher Adam Ottavino (2013-18).

The Rockies have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
