Oakland A’s Reinstate RHP Jiménez from Injured List; Place RHP Adams on IL

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher Dany Jiménez from the 15-day injured list and placed right-handed pitcher Austin Adams on the 15-day IL retroactive to August 15 with tendinitis in his right forearm, the club announced today.

Jiménez was 1-2 with a save, a 3.04 ERA and .726 opponents OPS in 23 relief appearances when he was placed on the 15-day IL June 23 retroactive to June 20 with a strained left oblique. He was assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas for a rehab assignment on August 6 and made four relief appearances, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five in 3.1 innings.

Adams is 1-2 with 3.92 ERA and .797 opponents OPS in 56 relief appearances with the A’s. He has a 1.04 ERA and has stranded all eight of his inherited runners in 11 outings since the All-Star Break.
