LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired infielder/outfielder Amed Rosario from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for minor league right-handed pitcher Michael Flynn. The Dodgers designated left-handed pitcher Ryan Yarbrough for assignment in order to make room for Rosario.

Rosario, 28, rejoins the Dodgers for the second straight season after being traded last summer for right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard. The infielder is batting .307 with two homers and 26 RBI in 76 games for the Rays. He slashed .256/.301/.408 with the Dodgers last season. He is in his eighth Major League season with New York (2017-20), Cleveland (2021-23), Los Angeles (2023) and Tampa Bay (2024), hitting .275 with 62 homers and 360 RBI. He was signed as an international free agent by the Mets on July 2012.

Flynn, 27, was 2-1 with a 4.95 ERA in 28 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City. In five minor league seasons, he was a combined 6-9 with a 6.20 ERA in 97 games (10 starts). He signed with the Dodgers on December 13, 2023 as a minor league free agent.

Yarbrough, 32, was 4-2 with a 3.74 ERA in 32 games for the Dodgers. In seven Major League seasons with Tampa Bay (2018-22), Kansas City (2023) and Los Angeles (2023-24) he was 52-40 with a 4.30 ERA in 184 games (68 starts). He was acquired by the Dodgers last season on August 1 from Kansas City in exchange for minor leaguers Devin Mann and Derlin Figueroa.
