The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired right-handed pitcher Michael Flynn from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for infielder/outfielder Amed Rosario.

Flynn, 27, went 2-1 with a 4.25 ERA (42.1IP, 20ER) and four saves, striking out 59 batters across 31 appearances (1 start) between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Originally selected by the Pirates in the sixth round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, he made nine appearances in Pittsburgh’s system before suffering a season-ending injury in 2019. Flynn did not pitch again until signing a minor league contract with the Mariners on May 13, 2022. Following two seasons in Seattle’s system, Flynn signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on December 14, 2023.

Rosario, 28, hit .307 (81-for-264) with 17 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 26 RBI, 22 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 76 games for the Rays this season. He has posted career highs in both batting average and on-base percentage (.331) while recording a .417 slugging percentage, his highest since 2019 (.432).
