A’s recall RHP Bido from Las Vegas; designate RHP Nittoli for assignment

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s recalled right-handed pitcher Osvaldo Bido from Triple-A Las Vegas and designated right-handed pitcher Vinny Nittoli for assignment, the club announced today.

Bido joins the A’s for the second time this year as he was previously called up as the 27th man for the A’s May 8 doubleheader against Texas. He started game two of the twin-bill and allowed four runs on three hits and two walks in 2.2 innings for the loss, and was sent back to Las Vegas following the game. The 28-year-old right-hander is 4-3 with a 4.50 ERA and .778 opponents OPS in 10 games, including nine starts, with the Aviators. He has 55 strikeouts against 16 walks in 48.0 innings.

Nittoli was selected from Las Vegas on June 4 and had a loss, a 2.25 ERA and .713 opponents OPS in seven relief appearances with the A’s. He is 3-1 with three saves and a 2.70 ERA in 20 relief appearances with the Aviators.
