OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s reinstated infielder Aledmys Díaz from the 60-day injured list and designated infielder Tyler Nevin for assignment, the club announced today.

Díaz began the season on the injured list with a strained right calf and was assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas for a rehab assignment May 10. He went 4-for-26 (.154) with three runs, a double, home run, five RBI, six walks and five strikeouts in 10 games, including four starts at third base, four at designated hitter and one each at second base and shortstop. The 33-year-old right-handed hitter batted .229 with four home runs and 24 RBI in 109 games in his eighth season in the majors last year, his first with the A’s.

Nevin was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on March 31 and hit .220 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 40 games with the A’s. He hit .316 in April but was 3-for-47 (.064) in 16 games in May.
