Dodgers add Yohan Ramírez

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers added right-handed pitcher Yohan Ramírez to the active roster and optioned right-handed pitcher Landon Knack. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated Eduardo Salazar for assignment.

Ramírez, 29, was acquired this morning from the Mets for cash considerations. He was designated for assignment on May 15 by the Mets. He started the season with New York, allowing seven runs in 5.1 innings and was claimed by Baltimore on April 13 (5 IP, 4 ER). He returned to the Mets on May 6 and tossed three scoreless innings before his designation. Overall, this season, Ramírez is 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA in 14.1 innings. The Villa Mella, Dominican Republic native has been in the Major Leagues parts of five seasons with Seattle (2020-22), Cleveland (2022), Pittsburgh (2022-23), Chicago-AL (2023), New York (2024) and Baltimore (2024) and he is a combined 6-5 with a 4.29 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 138.1 innings. He was originally signed by the Houston Astros on June 15, 2016 as an amateur free agent.

Knack, 26, pitched yesterday, allowing one run in 4.2 innings for the Dodgers. He went 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 16 strikeouts in four starts for the Dodgers this season. He made five starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City this year, going 2-1 with a 4.15 ERA and 29 strikeouts against nine walks. He has made 60 appearances (55 starts) in the minor leagues, and he has racked up 290 strikeouts in 253.1 innings while opponents have hit .232 against the Tennessee native. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of East Tennessee State University.
