CLEVELAND, OH – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned outfielder Byron Buxton from his rehab assignment and reinstated him the 10-day Injured List.

Buxton, who missed the club’s last 14 games with right knee inflammation, played in two games on rehab assignment this week with Triple-A St. Paul, going 0-for-6 with one RBI. Prior to landing on the IL, Buxton played in 28 games for Minnesota, hitting .250 (23-for-92) with eight doubles, one triple, one home run, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored.

To make room for Buxton on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned utility player Austin Martin to St. Paul. During his most recent stint with the Twins, Martin hit .214 (3-for-14) with one double, one walk and two stolen bases in eight games.
