Atlanta Vibe Conclude Season in League Championship Semifinals

OMAHA, Neb. – The Atlanta Vibe’s 2024 inaugural season came to a close on Wednesday evening in the Pro Volleyball Federation Championship Semifinals, as they lost a close five-set match to the No. 4 seed Grand Rapids Rise at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Vibe’s inaugural season was filled with historical firsts, records, and performances as the 2024 Regular Season Champions made their debut as Atlanta’s newest professional sports team. Boasting the No. 1 overall seed in the postseason wasn’t the first “first” for the Vibe this year, after they signed the first ever player in the league in Leah Edmond, scored the first point and went on to win the first match in league history at Omaha in January, and saw many more history-making moments.

Offensive powerhouses Anna Lazareva and Leah Edmond combined for 30 kills in the match, led by opposite hitter Lazareva with 17. Libero Morgan Hentz’ 16 digs kept the match going, and middle Shelly Fanning racked up four blocks and three block touches to slow the Rise’s offense.
