Ronny Henriquez optioned to Triple-A St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson from Triple-A St. Paul.

Woods Richardson, who was appointed as the 27th man for the doubleheader on April 13 at Detroit, made the start that day for the Twins, allowing one run on two hits in 6.0 innings pitched, with one walk and five strikeouts, while earning his first major league victory. Since that start with Minnesota, he has made one start for the Saints on April 19 at Indianapolis, allowing two runs on six hits in 5.0 innings pitched, with one walk and four strikeouts. The 23-year-old will be in uniform for today’s game, starting against the Chicago White Sox.

To make room for Woods Richardson on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Ronny Henriquez to Triple-A St. Paul. Henriquez made one appearance for the Twins, pitching 2.0 shutout innings of relief with two hits allowed, one walk and two strikeouts on Monday night against the White Sox.
