Sborz missed the Rangers’ last 17 games with a right rotator cuff strain

Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers today announced the following roster moves prior to Thursday’s series finale against the Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Field:

  • Right-handed pitcher Josh Sborz activated from 15-day Injured List (right rotator cuff strain).
  • Right-handed pitcher Grant Anderson optioned to Round Rock (AAA).

Sborz, 30, has tossed 2.2 scoreless innings spanning 3 relief appearances for the Rangers this season. He exited Texas’ April 6 contest versus Houston with two outs in the 8th inning and was placed on the 15-day Injured List on April 7 with a right rotator cuff strain. The right-hander worked 0.2 innings in one appearance on injury rehabilitation assignment with Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.

Anderson, 26, has gone 0-0, 12.00 ERA (4 ER/3.0 IP) in 4 relief outings for the Rangers this season. He most recently pitched last night, posting a scoreless 9th inning in the Rangers 5-1 win over the Mariners at Globe Life Field.
