No. 1: Atlanta Vibe Pro Volleyball Team Clinches Top Spot in League Postseason

Atlanta’s newest pro sports team continues to make history in its inaugural season

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Atlanta Vibe, the city’s newest professional sports team, have officially claimed the No. 1 overall seed in the Pro Volleyball Federation postseason. The 2024 Regular Season Champions have two remaining home matches before they head off to the neutral-site postseason tournament.

Standing at an impressive 17-5 record at the top of the league standings, the Vibe have won eight of their last nine matches. With the regular season coming to a close, Vibe fans only have two more chances to see the postseason-bound team in action at Gas South Arena:

·         Sunday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. – vs. Vegas Thrill for Faith & Family Day

·         Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. – vs. Columbus Fury for Atlanta’s final match of the regular season

Tickets for both matches are available on AtlantaVibe.com.

The league’s first championship will be held in the CHI Health Center in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The two semifinals matches on Wednesday, May 15 and title match on Saturday, May 18 will air nationally on CBS Sports Network. Tickets for the neutral-site championship matches are officially on sale to the public and available here.

The Vibe head into the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation Championship looking to bring home Atlanta’s fifth pro sports championship trophy. Winning the event in 2024 would make the Vibe Atlanta’s first team to accomplish the feat in their first year, and only the fourth fully professional team to bring a trophy to the city of Atlanta (the Atlanta Braves won the World Series in 1995 and 2021, Atlanta United won the MLS Cup in 2018, and the Georgia Swarm won the National Lacrosse League Championship in 2017).

The recognition as the No. 1 overall team in the postseason is just another “No. 1” for the Atlanta Vibe, who have been making history since they were announced as a market for the first year of the Pro Volleyball Federation back in February 2023. Most recently, the Vibe became the first team to clinch a postseason berth; Atlanta’s Leah Edmond was the first player ever signed into the league, and the team claimed the first win in league history with a five-set victory over Omaha on January 24, 2024. Outside hitter Alli Linnehan earned the first Player of the Week award after an outstanding opening week performance to keep the Vibe at the top of the standings.
