A’s Agree to Terms with INF J.D. Davis on One-Year Contract

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s agreed to terms with infielder J.D. Davis on a one-year contract for the 2024 season, the club announced today. A corresponding 40-man roster move will be announced later.

Davis began the spring with San Francisco and was 6-for-15 (.400) with two home runs and six RBI in six games when he was released on March 11. He batted .248 with 18 home runs and a career-high 69 RBI in a career-high 144 games with San Francisco last year. The 30-year-old right-handed hitter started 105 games at third base, 12 at designated hitter and nine at first base. Davis has spent seven seasons in the majors with the Astros (2017-18), Mets (2019-22) and Giants (2022-23) and is a .261 career hitter with 68 home runs, 215 RBI and a .775 OPS in 594 career games.
