CONFERENCE NEWS AND NOTES:
The Big 12 is back to a full seven-game conference schedule every week through the remainder of the season after each team had a bye in October.
FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff will travel to a Big 12 game for the second straight week as it goes live from Austin Saturday before the Longhorns host K-State. It will mark the sixth week this season for one of the national pregame shows to appear at a Big 12 game.
The Big 12 has the tightest conference race in the nation with 50 percent of teams within a game of each other in the top half of the conference standings, including five tied for the lead.
Kansas, K-State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas have reached bowl eligibility. BYU, Iowa State and West Virginia are one win away
The Big 12 has four teams ranked this week with No. 7/6 Texas, No. 10/11 Oklahoma, No. 22/23 Kansas and No. 25/RV K-State. Oklahoma State is receiving votes and is just outside the top 25 in both polls
Six Big 12 teams (BYU, Kansas, K-State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas) are undefeated at home this season. In conference games, the home team holds a 21-13 advantage

Among conferences, the Big 12 is first in rushing yards per game (172.8), second in total yards (421.7) and third in passing yards (254.4) and scoring (30.4).
Six Power 5 schools nationally have multiple players with 3+ interceptions with four of those hailing from the Big 12: BYU (2), Houston (2), Iowa State (2) and Oklahoma (2).

Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II earned his third-consecutive Big 12 football offensive weekly award. He was joined by teammate Leon Johnson III (co-newcomer), West Virginia’s Beanie Bishop Jr. (defensive and co-newcomer) and Texas’ Xavier Worthy (special teams) as week nine honorees.
The Big 12 is tied for the nation’s lead with six of the 25 teams that are averaging 100% or over in home stadium capacity. Oklahoma is third among teams at 104.60% capacity followed by 4. K-State (104.17), 5. TCU (103.43), 10. Cincinnati (101.85), 13. Texas (100.99) and T21. Oklahoma State (100.0). All Big 12 teams are averaging over 88 percent capacity.
The Big 12 finished regular season non-conference play at 30-12 (.714).
Baylor sophomore S Devyn Bobby had a career-high 11 tackles, the most for a Bear in 2023, and an interception against Iowa State.
BYU forced two turnovers against Texas as the Cougars recorded an interception as well as a forced fumble and rank No. 3 nationally (first in the Big 12) in turnovers gained with 18.
RB RJ Harvey surpassed 100 rushing yards for the third consecutive game and became the first UCF player to accomplish the feat since former Knight and current Buffalo Bill Latavius Murray rushed for more than 100 yards in four consecutive games in 2012.
RB Myles Montgomery’s 63-yard touchdown run in the first quarter against Oklahoma State was his longest rush of the season, the second-longest run of his career (76 yards, 2022), Cincinnati’s second-longest rush this season and the third-longest play of the season for the Bearcats.
Houston sophomore WR Matthew Golden hauled in three receptions against Kansas State to stretch his streak of consecutive games with a catch to 18.
Iowa State has an interception in five-straight games for the first time since 2018 and the first time in five-straight conference games since 2005.
Kansas captured its first win against Oklahoma since a 20-17 victory during the 1997 season. The win was Kansas’ first regular season win over a Top 10 opponent since defeating No. 4 Colorado on October 7, 1995, and the first win over a Top 10 opponent in Lawrence since defeating No. 2 Oklahoma on October 27, 1984.
Kansas State scored 41 points against Houston to improve its streak to six-straight home games of scoring 40 or more points dating back to last season. The streak is the longest since doing so 12 straight times over the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
Oklahoma has 18 takeaways (14 interceptions, four fumbles) and holds a plus-10 turnover margin this season. OU ranks tied for third in the nation in turnover margin.
RB Ollie Gordon II totaled 271 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries against Cincinnati to become the second player in OSU history with back-toback games of 250+ rushing yards, joining Barry Sanders in 1988.

WR/PR Xavier Worthy raced 74 yards for the first punt return touchdown of his career in Texas’ win over BYU. It was the first punt return touchdown by the Longhorns since 2018 and the 10th-longest in program history.
