NHL Morning Skate – Nov. 7, 2026

* Kirill Kaprizov factored on all four Minnesota goals and Quinn Hughes recorded his 100th career multi-assist game as both stars helped the Wild become the fastest franchise in NHL history to 1,000 regular-season wins.

* Jackson LaCombe established the longest point and assist streak by a Ducks defenseman and helped Anaheim become the fourth team in 40 years to score at least five goals in seven straight games (excluding shootout-deciding goals).

* Saturday’s slate has the Hurricanes and Kraken contesting their final games before meeting at the 2026 NHL Global Series Finland, while Sportsnet’s Saturday Night Hockey telecast includes several ties to the Hockey Hall of Fame class of 2026 ahead of induction weekend.

KAPRIZOV, HUGHES POWER WILD TO 1,000TH WIN IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

Kirill Kaprizov (1-3—4) and Quinn Hughes (1-2—3) continued their impressive starts to the season by each finding the score sheet for the 16th game in 2026-27, which trails only Connor McDavid (17 GP) for the most among all players, and helped Minnesota become the fastest franchise in NHL history to 1,000 regular-season wins (1,995 GP).

* Kaprizov (16-14—30 in 18 GP) became the fourth player this season with 30 points and required the second-fewest games in Wild history to reach the mark – he also holds the franchise benchmark (16 GP in 2024-25). Kaprizov, the League’s goal scoring leader in 2026-27, recorded his sixth career four-point game and tied Matt Boldy for the second most in franchise history, behind Marian Gaborik (7 GP).

* Hughes has found the score sheet in 49 of 66 regular-season games since joining the Wild on Dec. 14, 2025. The only players to do so more times since then are McDavid (59 GP), Evan Bouchard (53 GP), Nikita Kucherov (50 GP) and Tim Stützle (50 GP). His 78 points dating to his Wild debut only trail Bouchard (96) for the most among all defensemen.

* Hughes (525 GP) recorded his 100th career multi-assist game and became the fourth-fastest active player to hit the mark, behind forwards Connor McDavid (398 GP), Sidney Crosby (465 GP) and Artemi Panarin (522 GP). He also became the sixth-fastest defenseman in NHL history to record 40 career three-point games, trailing Paul Coffey (300 GP), Bobby Orr (318 GP), Denis Potvin (367 GP), Cale Makar (406 GP) and Ray Bourque (474 GP).

LaCOMBE, CARLSSON LIFT DUCKS TO ANOTHER FIVE-GOAL GAME
Jackson LaCombe (0-1—1) found the score sheet for the ninth straight game while Leo Carlsson (1-1—2) notched his 10th multi-point performance of the season to lift Anaheim to another five-goal outburst and a fourth straight win. The Ducks became the fourth team in the past 40 years to score at least five goals in seven straight games (excluding shootout deciders), following the 1988-89 Kings (9 GP), 1991-92 Penguins (7 GP) and 1986-87 North Stars (7 GP).

* LaCombe passed Scott Niedermayer (8 GP in 2006-07) and Oleg Tverdovsky (8 GP in 1999-00) for the longest point streak by a Ducks defenseman, while also moving within one game of the longest assist streak in franchise history (Ryan Getzlaf & Corey Perry: 10 GP in 2009-10).

* Carlsson (17 GP) tied Getzlaf(17 GP in 2017-18) for the fewest games to 20 assists in a season by a Ducks skater. He also matched Henrik Sedin (17 GP in 2010-11), Peter Forsberg (17 GP in 2003-04) and Kent Nilsson (17 GP in 1984-85) as the second-fastest Swedish player to reach the mark in a campaign, trailing only Forsberg’s pace in 2005-06 (12 GP).

* Carlsson surpassed Paul Kariya (19 GP in 1996-97) as the fastest Ducks skater to 10 multi-point games in a season and joined Connor McDavid (12) as well as Leon Draisaitl (10) as the third player with 10 multi-point performances in 2026-27.

DAHLIN DELIVERS SABRES TO VICTORY IN #NHLSTATS: LIVE UPDATES
Friday’s edition of #NHLStats: Live Updates featured notes on Rasmus Dahlin (1-0—1), who scored his 14th career game-winning goal and moved within one of tying Mike Ramsey (15) for the second most by a Buffalo blueliner behind Phil Housley (25). Skating in his 599th career game, the Sabres captain boosted his career totals to 105-339—444 – only three active defensemen have as many points before their 600th contest: Cale Makar (525), Quinn Hughes (510) and Erik Karlsson (488).

HHOF CLASS OF 2026 CONNECTIONS TO SATURDAY NIGHT HOCKEY

It is Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Weekend in Toronto with players Carey Price, Patrice Bergeron, Pekka Rinne, Keith Tkachuk and Cindy Curley as well as builder Brian Burke set for their official induction ceremony on Monday. Prior to Monday’s enshrinement, weekend events in Toronto include photo opportunities with hockey legends on Saturday, a fan forum with the new inductees Sunday as well as the Hockey Hall of Fame game Sunday night in Toronto between the Maple Leafs and Devils. With hockey’s all-time greats descending on Toronto serving as a backdrop – including two new inductees with ties to teams playing tonight on Rogers Saturday Night Hockey – Sportsnet’s broadcast offers three national games in Canada including an Original Six matchup between the Canadiens and Maple Leafs.

* Burkewill be inducted in the builder’s category, recognizing a career in which he has held many hats in the hockey world including as a player agent, Director of Hockey Operations for the NHL, multiple hockey operations roles with Team USA and as a Stanley Cup winning general manager (2007 w/ ANA) who held that position for five different NHL franchises including two teams in action on Sportsnet tonight: Vancouver (1998-99 to 2003-04) and Toronto (2008-09 to 2011-12).

* NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman shared a special testimonial on NHL.com in recognition of Burke’s upcoming induction.

* Price is the latest in a long list of Canadiens Hall of Fame goaltenders that includes Jacques Plante, Ken Dryden and Patrick Roy – he ranks above all of them on the franchise’s all-time wins list. Price (2014-15) is among eight goaltenders to win the Hart Trophy – one of three Canadiens netminders on that list alongside Jose Theodore (2001-02) and Plante (1961-62). On the international stage, Price backstopped Canada to an Olympic Gold medal in 2014 where he was named the tournament’s top goaltender and helped his country triumph at the World Cup of Hockey 2016. Former teammate and ESPN analyst P.K. Subban penned a special tribute to Price for NHL.com.

* Price had an all-time regular season record of 27-17-5 head-to-head against the Maple Leafs with a 2.69 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and four shutouts. In the First Round of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which marked the first series between Toronto and Montreal in 42 years, Price rallied the Canadiens from a 3-1 series deficit to three straight wins and a series victory (1.83 GAA, .945 SV% in Games 5-7) in a postseason the underdog Canadiens advanced all the way to the Stanley Cup Final before falling to the Lightning.

* Price has praised the next generation of Canadiens goaltenders, Jakub Dobes (age 25) and rookie Jacob Fowler (age 21), noting that Fowler’s presence in the net reminds him of himself at a similar age.

HURRICANES, KRAKEN TO CONTEST FINAL GAMES BEFORE FINLAND

The Hurricanes (vs. CHI) and Kraken (vs. NYR) will skate in their final games on Saturday before heading to Helsinki for a pair of games on Nov. 12 and 14 in the 2026 NHL Global Series Finland. After they complete their back-to-back set at Veikkaus Arena, Finland will have hosted a total of 13 regular-season NHL games. The only country outside of North America to host more: Sweden (19x). Helsinki will also tie Prague, Czechia (9x) for the city with the second-most NHL regular-season games hosted outside North America behind Stockholm, Sweden (18x).
