Lawler and Adams also named to week’s best

TORONTO – Tyson Philpot, Kenny Lawler and Vernon Adams Jr. have been named Week 18 Players of the Week in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The honour spotlights exceptional statistical performances, pivotal plays, game-breaking feats and more.

The three players were chosen by a panel composed of representatives from the CFL’s Football Operations, Player and Game Statistics, and Content departments.

  1. TYSON PHILPOT | REC | MONTREAL ALOUETTES |WPG 10 – MTL 37
    • 11 receptions for 207 yards; second 200-yard+ game of career and first of the season
    • Set single-season Canadian records for receptions (119) and receiving yards (1,735)
    • Two receptions of 30+ yards, highlighted by a 52-yard effort in the first quarter
    • 18.8 yards per catch
    • Six second-down conversion receptions
    • 57 yards after catch
    • Sixth Player of the Week honour (W2, W4, W6, W9 and W10)
  2. KENNY LAWLER | REC | HAMILTON TIGER-CATS |HAM 34 – OTT 16
    • Six receptions for 132 yards; first 100-yard+ game of the season
    • Two majors for first multiple TD game of the season
    • One reception of 30+ yards, highlighted by a season-long 41-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter
    • Three second-down conversion receptions
  3. VERNON ADAMS JR. | QB | CALGARY STAMPEDERS |CGY 37 – SSK 31
    • 22-of-29 (75.9 per cent) for 242 yards
    • Four touchdown passes to Clark Barnes, Damien Alford, Tevin Jones and Jalen Philpot
    • No interceptions
    • 21 rushing yards on two carries, including a 15-yard rush in the fourth quarter
    • Efficiency rating of 146.0
    • Third Player of the Week honour (W5 and W17)
