Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed guard Elena Buenavida to a player development contract.
Buenavida, a 5-9 guard, joins Minnesota after most recently playing with Valencia Basket Club, where she averaged 7.6 points on 47.0% shooting from the floor, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 34 Spanish LF Endesa contests last season. Her best outing came against Zaragoza on May 14, when she posted 19 points on 3-of-5 shooting from three-point range, along with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
On the international stage, Buenavida competed with the Spanish Women’s National Team at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico, averaging 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game to help Spain qualify for this year’s FIBA Women’s World Cup. Buenavida also helped Spain earn a silver-medal finish at the 2025 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Tournament, posting 5.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in six contests.
