Department of Health, Safety and Integrity issues player discipline
TORONTO – The Office of the Commissioner oversees suspendible offences at the Canadian Football League (CFL), while the Department of Health, Safety and Integrity manages league discipline.
The Commissioner and the Department – which includes Chief Football Operations Officer Greg Dick, Vice-President of Officiating Darren Hackwood, Vice-President of Football Operations and Player Safety Eric Noivo and Associate Vice-President of Football Operations Ryan Janzen – have issued three suspensions for actions committed during Week 15. Multiple fines are under review.
- BC defensive back Joshua Hagerty has been suspended two games for striking Montreal running back Liam Talbot.
- Montreal defensive back Don Callis has been suspended one game for leaving the bench area and for striking BC defensive back Deontai Williams.
- BC defensive back Ronald Kent Jr. has been suspended one game for inciting an altercation.
Per CFL policy, the league does not announce:
- Amounts of player fines
- Discipline related to dress code violations
- Discipline involving teams or staff
- Discipline involving players who have been released
