Detroit Casinos Bring In $102.6 Million in June Revenue

DETROIT – The city’s three commercial casinos reported $102.68 million in total revenue for June, according to figures released Friday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

Table games and slot machines accounted for nearly all of the monthly haul, generating $101.84 million. Retail sports betting contributed $836,063 in qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR).

June market share remained consistent across the three properties: MGM Grand Detroit held 47 percent, MotorCity Casino 31 percent and Hollywood Casino at Greektown 22 percent.

Table games and slot revenue rose 1.5 percent compared with June 2025 but fell 10.1 percent from May 2026. Through the first half of the year, revenue was up 1.3 percent year over year.

Casino‑level results compared with June 2025 were mixed. MGM reported a 1.7 percent decline to $47.61 million, MotorCity posted a 3.9 percent increase to $31.81 million and Hollywood Casino at Greektown saw a 5.2 percent rise to $22.42 million.

The casinos paid $8.2 million in state gaming taxes in June, slightly higher than the $8.1 million paid a year earlier. They also submitted $12.1 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

Retail sports betting activity produced a $6.38 million handle and $837,681 in gross receipts. QAGR increased 25.6 percent from June 2025 and rose 7 percent from May.

June QAGR by casino included $295,756 from MGM, $337,035 from MotorCity and $203,272 from Hollywood Casino at Greektown. The casinos paid $31,603 in state taxes and $38,626 to Detroit based on retail sports betting activity.

Fantasy contest operators reported $569,264 in adjusted revenues for May 2026 and paid $47,818 in taxes.
