WASHINGTON – The National Indian Gaming Commission on Friday reported $46.2 billion in gross gaming revenue for fiscal year 2025, a 5.3% increase from the previous year and the highest total ever recorded for the tribal gaming sector.

The figure represents a $2.3 billion year‑over‑year gain and is based on independently audited financial statements submitted by 545 gaming operations owned by 246 tribes across 29 states. Seven of the NIGC’s eight administrative regions posted revenue growth.

“Indian gaming is an important contributor to tribal economies that empowers sovereign tribal governments to invest in their communities and provide their citizens with essential services,” NIGC Vice Chair Billy Kirkland said in a statement. “The Trump Administration is proud to work alongside tribal leaders to ensure these benefits endure for future generations.”

Associate Commissioner Sharon Avery praised operators and regulators for another strong year.

“These GGR results reflect the continued commitment of tribal regulators and operators to responsible growth and community benefit,” Avery said.

Gross gaming revenue — defined as the amount wagered minus winnings returned to players — is a key metric used by the commission to track industry performance and guide regulatory policy under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. The NIGC collects the data annually to monitor trends across the tribal gaming landscape.
