SYDNEY – The World Poker Tour will return to Australia this fall, with The Star Sydney set to host the 2026 WPT Australia festival from Sept. 10–30, organizers announced Tuesday.

The series, one of the country’s largest annual poker events, is expected to draw players from across Australia and around the world.

Two championship tournaments headline the schedule. The AUD 1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship will run Sept. 17–22, followed by the AUD 5,000 WPT Australia Championship from Sept. 24–30. Final tables for both events will be livestreamed globally.

The festival will also feature a full slate of side events and satellite qualifiers, giving players lower‑cost entry paths into the major tournaments. Among the additional offerings are the AUD 500 Ladies Australian Championship on Sept. 15–16, Pot‑Limit Omaha events, bounty tournaments and several mixed‑format competitions.

“We are thrilled to return to The Star Sydney for another WPT Australia festival,” WPT CEO Adam Pliska said. “Australia continues to be one of the world’s most passionate poker regions, and we look forward to welcoming players from around the globe as we crown the next WPT champion.”

The Star Sydney is expected to again serve as a major draw for players and international visitors, offering hotel accommodations, dining, entertainment and nightlife throughout the three‑week festival.

The Sydney stop is part of the second half of the WPT’s Season 24 schedule, which also includes upcoming events in Cyprus, Jacksonville, Austin, San Jose, Las Vegas and additional locations yet to be announced.
