Curvelo slated for third stint on Rangers active roster in 2026
Kansas City, Mo. — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to this afternoon’s series finale at Kauffman Stadium against the Kansas City Royals.
- Left-handed pitcher Jalen Beeks placed on 15-day Injured List (low back spasms), retroactive to June 10
- Right-handed pitcher Luis Curvelo recalled from Triple-A Round Rock
Beeks, 32, has gone 2-1 with a 3.81 ERA (11 ER/26.0 IP), 8 walks, and 21 strikeouts in 29 relief outings for Texas in 2026, tied with Tyler Alexander for the team lead in appearances. The left-hander last pitched on Tuesday at Kansas City in the club’s 5-3 loss to the Royals, allowing one run on 3 hits over 0.2 innings. He appeared in 5 of Texas’ 10 games from May 29 through Tuesday, matching Peyton Gray for the most outings by a Rangers hurler in that stretch. This marks just the second Injured List stint for Beeks over his last four seasons since 2023, as he spent three weeks on the 15-day Injured List with Arizona from July 8-31, 2025 with lower back inflammation.
The 25-year-old Curvelo did not appear for Round Rock since being optioned by Texas postgame on Sunday. He has logged two stints on Texas’ active roster in 2026 (April 5-14, June 1-7), posting a 4.91 ERA (4 ER/7.1 IP) in 7 relief appearances. Curvelo also pitched in 9 games at Triple-A this season (1-1, 5.63 ERA) and was on the Rangers’ 15-day Injured List with a right biceps strain from April 15-May 19. His last mound appearance was with Texas on Sunday vs. Cleveland, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning to close out a 10-0 Rangers win.
With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with four players on the 60-day Injured List (RHP Carter Baumler and LHP’s Cody Bradford, Robert Garcia, and Jordan Montgomery).
