2024 World Series of Poker Main Event sets attendance record

With final registration officially closed, the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event has once again eclipsed its all-time attendance record by officially welcoming 10,112 entrants into the 55th iteration of the undisputed world championship of poker. The new record is now set just one summer after the 17-year record was broken in 2023 when Daniel Weinman of Atlanta, Georgia defeated a record field of 10,043 entrants to take home the iconic WSOP Main Event Bracelet.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event set a single-day entrants record on 6 July, when 5,014 entrants joined the field as part of flight 1D to help generate the largest prize pool in live tournament poker history.

“10,000 entrants has become the new magic number for the WSOP Main Event,” said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of World Series of Poker. “The response has been overwhelming since our move to the Las Vegas Strip. Thank you to our partners, team members, and most of all, the players for another unforgettable summer.”

With the new record now in hand, the WSOP sets its sights on the Main Event Final Table, with a massive first-place prize to be awarded to the eventual undisputed world champion of poker. This year’s Final Table of nine players will each enjoy payouts of $1 million or more, including $10 million for first place, $6 million for runner-up, and an impressive $1,000,000 for the first player sent home.

The full payout breakdown for the Final Table is as follows:

The 2024 WSOP Main Event champion will also take home the 2024 Main Event gold bracelet, which was unveiled on July 8 inside Horseshoe Las Vegas by a Founding Father of the WSOP, Jack Binion. Considered the richest trophy in sports, the 2024 WSOP Main Event bracelet was custom-made by Jostens from approximately 445 grams of 10-karat yellow gold with 2,253 various precious gemstones, including 1,948 round genuine diamonds, 230 black onyx stones, and 75 genuine red rubies to accentuate the suits. Special to this year’s design is a removable golden face plate in the center of the bracelet that serves as a card protector.
